Retail/Design Assistant

Fawn Meadow is seeking an outgoing flower lover with an interest in floral design to join our team. The role is based in our Kennebunk storefront with the long term goal of growing & managing our retail floral design business. You must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and be effective working independently. Previous design experience is not required though an interest in using seasonal material is a must. 

Employment type: Part-Time with potential for Full-Time

Expected start date: ASAP

Compensation: $15-$20 hourly to start, dependent on experience

Schedule: Thursday to Saturday, approximately 10-20 hours per week to start.

Responsibilities include:

• Opening & closing store
• Making floral bouquets & arrangements
• Cleaning vases & buckets
• Keeping shop (sweeping, cleaning, etc.)
• Answering phones/taking retail orders when necessary
• Engaging with customers
• Assisting with event work as needed
• Some social media
• Inventory management
• Event setup & breakdown as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications: 

• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to work independently & efficiently
• Basic computer skills (email, POS system)
• Must be a positive team player and have a great sense of humor
• Open minded and inclusive of all walks of life
• Able to take direction, learn systems, and see all tasks through to completion
• Physical strength and stamina (able to lift 40+ lbs)
• Saturday availability a must
